Final grades

Dear students,

I have uploaded your final grades (Final test 1 june or Final test 4 june/exam).

I wish you all good luck for all other disciplines. It was a pleasure giving these classes even though these are very strange times.

To all of you that will be here in ISA next year I invite you to come to the field visit regarding Tree improvement that I will organize in this discipline. Meanwhile if you intend to do a final master thesis in the subject of tree improvement I will be happy to suggest some ideas of work and talk about it.

Also I would like to ask you to answer the survey questionnaire that you have in your personal area of Fénix regarding the evaluation of the UC Genética e Melhoramento Florestal. This evaluation is completely anonymous so that you are free to expose your true feelings ( :-) ) about how the classes were given or what should be improved. Thanks in advance for your time.

Exame e Teste Final (4 de Junho, 14h)

Caros alunos,

Na próxima quinta-feira, 4 de Junho, às 14h terá lugar a 1ª data de exame para os que reprovaram no Teste Final e para os que desejam fazer melhoria de nota. Ao mesmo tempo será feito o Teste Final para quem não o realizou no passado dia 1 de Junho.

Peço a quem desejar vir a esta chamada que me envie um email a confirmar a presença. O teste/exame terá a duração de 2 horas e será realizado em sistema de video-conferência nos mesmos moldes do anterior.

Evaluation (final test and exames)

Dear students,

The final test is schedulled for next Monday (June 1) at 14h. I have uploaded ISA recommendations and rules for this special case of “online” evaluation.

A new rule of evaluation will be implemented in our UC of Genética e Melhoramento Florestal. If a student has a grade in the final test or exames higher than 16 values (in a scale of 20) an ORAL examination will be schedulled for grade defense. If the student choose not to defend the grade he will remain with the targeted 16 value independently of the test/exame grade.

Furthermore, as it is recommended in the document, if there is a suspiction of fraud in any test/exame an oral will be implemented for grade confirmation.

Future classes and evaluation

Dear students,

I hope you are all in good health conditions!

It's time to regain the losted time with this great inconvenient of quarantene. Thus, our classes on Genetic and Tree Improvement have to procced. I have uploaded two more files of the classes presentations here in Fénix where you can also find the main bibliography.

I ask you to take a good look of these presentations and support those with the reading of the bibliography, namely, the chapters indicated.

From the next week on classes will be given through Zoom/colibri format (Tuesdays and Wednesdays).

Next week, on Tuesday, I will send you by email, a short question for evaluation on the subject of the classes presentation #3 (“Tree improvement: stages, cycle”). This question has to be answered untill 12h (25/03, send me an email with the answer file).

Also, I will prepare a list of questions (exame type questions) for you to analyse, search the answers and for you to self-analyse your difficulties on the course subjects. These questions will be answered in future classes (videoconference meetings).
