Trees as important elements of green infrastructure in urban environments can provide multiple environmental benefits and meaningful ecosystem services which are intrinsically linked to climate change mitigation possibilities.

In this class we will discuss how various tree variables (e.g. crown height, crown spread and diameter of the tree trunk at breast height, age, species, health, growing conditions, and tree maintenance factors specially pruning) affect the carbon storage capacities of trees.

If you want to know a little more about it before the class take a look at: Analysis of carbon sequestration by dominant trees in urban areas of Thane city

The class will be taught by Professor Paula Soares.
