Personal: born 1957, married, 6 children. Full Professor (ISA/UL).
Motto: basic research to solve everyday problems.
Research areas: transcript-, proteo- and metabolomics in cell-cell and cell-molecule interactions, involved in plant- and human-pathogen interactions and human health and nutrition.
Biological materials: from bacteria to fungi, plants to man, with a special focus on fungal pathogens.
Collaborations: national and international, ranging from plant systematics, chemistry and electronics, to phytopathology, agriculture, human nutrition and medicine.
Publications and Patents: over 100 published scientific articles, inventor in many international patents, either granted or under examination.
Experienceon research supervision, coordination of research projects and intellectual property issues.
Links to productive sector: shareholder and member of the board of an agricultural company and of one biotech start-up.
