This lesson provides an introduction to the recent applications in the field of “e-Biodiversity” to study the rich Mediterranean flora. The students will explore the information available in public databases to understand the uses and applications of plants as unique reservoirs for food and agriculture. Each group of 3 students will select a crop species from the Portuguese flora to be used as a case-stud. They will learn how to assess available information on CWR gene pools through powerful international databases, to get data to generate a dataset for develop their project in the framework of this module.
